Has anyone used the short AALs in the rear and long AALs in front?

My weekend project had the rear sagging severly under load and this type of weight will be common for me (towing and projects). I've read through the posts about how bad the short AALs are for ride quality, but for stability under heavy load I'm ok with the rough ride.

Questions is: Are the short AALs measureably better than the long AALs for heavy weight?

Opinions and comments welcome.

I'm running that set up but I'm SOA. I really like the ride in the back, nice and firm, but I would suspect it would be a little harsher SUA. Don't know if the two are comparable, but I thought I'd let you know my experience. With the short aal in the back, I can now carry my 350# trail load without sagging in the rear, I always got that reverse rake look before the aals. As a side note, my rear are quiter than the front, which pop all over the place because they keep opening the spring clamps. Need to cut the clamps or bend them up and put a bolt through them.

Thanks erfworm!

Appreciate the info, I'm going to give it a try.

I'm a trial and error junkie...

Me too, what works for one might not work for another.
