Commentary: I have no interest in this truck, whether it is a good or bad buy or worth its current bid. I will say, however, that one of the sad things about BaT (and other auctions structured like it) is that they will not accept an item unless you agree to their terms. One stipulation may be that THEY set a reserve number, which could be lower than the seller wants, or they may only accept an item with NO reserve. Desperate sellers may agree to such terms in the belief that the tide will rise enough to cover their personal expectations to either break-even or profit somewhat. Rarely does a seller anticipate a LOSS. It really amounts to gambling. The hope is often for a big payday, while the odds may be stacked otherwise.

While we all like a good deal as a buyer, none of us would ever want to be on the other end of such a transaction when it goes south. My 2 cents.

She has a lot of interesting rust, body and chassis repairs. I like the front chassis cross member and welded hinges ..... she is going to be a Pandora's box of surprises me thinks. BUT at the current price she is a very cheap Diesel Ute with CA Approvals.
I would be amazed if someone outside CA bought it

Was going to bid until I saw the cracked frame repairs, bondo, body cracks, rust etc.
It lived a very hard life.

Yep It was certainly a pig with lipstick but still Full CA tags and Title and a Diesel 40 series

BAT auctions also provide 0 guarantee for the seller that the buyer will pay or complete the transaction. Once the auction ends BAT steps out of the picture and everything becomes up to the buyer and seller. So the buyer could back out without ramification and the seller could also back-out without ramification. Unless something has changed.

BAT takes the buyer's money when they bid and refunds if they dont win. So BAT gets paid regardless

Horrible company BAT is, no protection for buyers. I currently have a 1979 fj45 from Colombia that cost 30K canadian and it is a sad landcruiser with cracks all over the frame, very poor restoration...NEVER buy off BAT without seeing the vehicle in person...

I won a car on BAT and I cannot remember if I the buyer had to pay a fee but I know for certain that they didn’t take the price of the car. Simply sent me an email saying I was the winner and the seller would be in contact.

They take the fee out of your CC as soon as you bid. Weird if you bid and they didn't maybe it has changed

They may take a fee but they don’t charge you the winning bid. That’s up to you and the seller. Or you and the buyer to work out. Which unfortunately opens the door for the occasional failed deal.
