Hey guys,
Anybody have 2 1/2" OME on their FJ40? Could somebody send me some photos of the front and rear shackle angle and overall ride height. I have the anti-inversion shackles in my kit and I'm not sure if it's correct. I have no directions or references to look at so not sure if it's how it's supposed to be. Also the rear driveline is bottomed out. I am frame only right now so no weight on the suspension but doesn't seem right?? Thanks for any help. Please send photos to bbenzo@hotmail.com.

I don't think you should be bottomed out on the rear driveshaft although that will be the shortest - as weight comes on the suspension the rear pinion moves farther away from the t-case.

You won't know what your actual shackle angle is until you are up to operating weight. Post pics.

I just did a OME install a month ago. With the drive shaft I had problems too, I didnt think it was going to fit, but I jacked up the actual spring pack on each side, just a used a jack stand to hold it up. This changed things just enough to get the axle centered. This took a little playing and praying, and grunting with the axlel, but it worked. I am sure there is a easy way to do this but it was my first time, and I dont know much. I cant take pics now, but if no one has posted by tomorrow I will. As already stated, you cant tell your shackle angle till it is weighted and flexed. Best!

I experienced a similiar problem...but during disassembly. I had the tub removed (no weight on frame). With the OME 2.5" HD, I had to compress the system in order to simulate weight on the springs. This allowed the shackles to rotate a bit, and allowed a bit of axial play on the driveshaft so I could remove it. All I needed was the 0.125" or so that exists in the form of a lip on the aft end of the rear driveshaft. Once I got that clearance, it fell out.

Hope that helps,
Chris
