I recently purchased a 1995 Land Cruiser that has a 2" OME lift. It was installed 20K miles ago. I am looking to return the truck to stock. The lift was installed by 4 Wheel Parts at a cost of $4,632 on 12/17. The 35" BFG tires are almost like new. I have all documentation from the prior owner regarding the lift installation at 4 Wheel Parts.

Can anyone recommend someone in the area (Charlotte, NC) that can remove the lift and return the truck to stock? Does anyone know what the value of the below lift and tires would be? I am interested in selling the lift / tires once the truck is returned back to stock and run 33" tires.

Below is the information regarding the lift:

OME 2” lift with 850/860 coils
Nitrocharger N71 and N70 shocks
OME steering damper
OME caster correction bushings
ARB front and rear adjustable panhard bars
B.F. Goodrich AT KO2 315/75R16 (35’s) - they have approximately 20k miles on them with lots of tread life left.

Many thanks.

You just bought it...

you want to sell it...

you want to pay money to reduce the value beforehand...

??????????????

Personally, I prefer the look of a stock Land Cruiser - not a lifted truck. I would like to return the truck to stock. I did not mention I wanted to sell the truck. I was referring to selling the OME lift and 35" BFG tires.

@rolliges ... So glad to see I wasn't the only one with the same reaction

Well in that case, for $4,600 I will come out there with stock springs and shocks, remove said lift and recycle the old parts for you.

Please PM me to finalize details

At $4600 the PO was taken for a ride. Removing the lift can be done by almost any competent 4WD shop the biggest issue will be removing the caster bushings and installing the OEM replacements. If you have the original springs and other OEM parts you might be looking at 4 to 5 shop labor hours. If you don't have the parts then your best option would be to find someone else to trade the springs and bars with. Tires may be worth 1/3 to 1/2 of currently available prices. OME shocks would still be usable. With the labor you would be fortunate to break even.

Your wording makes it seem like you want to sell the truck. Seems you want to sell the lift.

here is a spring comparison from the classifieds:

Mods aren't worth much the 2nd time around.

Many thanks for the advice. Yes, I would say the PO was taken for a ride. Curious if going down to a 33" tire would look strange on a 2.5" lift. For me the 35" tires are simply too big for a daily driver. I do not intend to off road this truck seriously. Any advice you have is greatly appreciated.

Just personal preference, but 33" tires look "right" on a stock height truck. Can't say I've seen a 2.5" lift with just 33" tires since most do the lift to fit the larger tire.

Maybe try your local club and someone with stock height and some wrench skills may be willing to swap you for your 2.5: lift and 35" tires in exchange for the labor to do the swap?

I've run 33" tires (285 75 R16) on 2.5" lift for over 20 years. It looks and performs very good. I wouldn't go any smaller. 35 inch tires became more common over the past decade as the vehicles became cheaper and started being used for rock crawling and more extreme offroading when the owners were more willing to suffer body damage.

Here’s a set of OME stock height springs for $200 bucks. Only 11k miles on them. You’re welcome.

You can have my stock springs but you have to take my running boards too.

I think you should leave the suspension alone and find someone local to trade tires.

My 2.5 lift w/ 33s. Only thing I dislike is the 12.5 tire width. Will be moving to the 10.5 width on the next set. Otherwise very happy w/ it

I would definitely leave the suspension on there and just get smaller tires. It will sag and settle a little over time anyway.

My 2.5" OME Heavies lift with 33" GY Duratracs.
Note: I do not have a front bumper on it because I have a winch on the front.

Does anyone have a set of running boards they are willing to part with? I’m thinking of adding running boards and putting a set of 33”s on. If anyone is interested in a set of of 35” BFG KO 2 tires with 20k miles on them, please let me know.
