I'm in the middle of installing OMEs on my 60. I've got the fronts on, everything fits fine, but what about the sway bar connects? They are still in stock form now. Do I need to extend them, and by how much? What happens if I run them in stock form?

Also, what is the proper method of popping the rubber bushings into the shock eyes? Why couldn't they come installed from the factory?

Thanks,
Cameron

if you got the greasable bushings (yellow), then put a thin film of grease (Moly is fine) on the bushings before you put them in, it helps. If rubber bushings, I think you want to NOT use grease as it will degrade them.

On my OME install, we extended the sway bars by about 4 inches. If I were to redo it, I would probably go with a disconnect system on the swaybar.

Good luck!

Go to AutoZone, look in the ricer car aisle, where they sell all the bling-bling red poly bushings and stuff. They should have swaybar kits all complete with bushings, I think they're made by AddCo. Get the longest one they sell.

As Sandcruiser said, make sure they are PU...then what I did was grease both the bushing and the shockeye, and then used a vice to gently pursuade the bushing to fit in. I couldn't do it with just my fingers.

Thanks for the help, I didn't have a vice, but we got them in with a hammer. The rears weren't much trouble, but the fronts were pretty tight.
