I have just completed installing the OME/Dakar suspension under my 1988 FJ62. I now have a seat of the pants vibration when I first take off that seems to disappear when I get up to speed. First time installing a lift and was wondering if there is some other mod I need to do. Thanks

You might want to try adding shims under you rear springs to help with drivline angle. How extreme of an angle is it?

Agree to check drive line phase but that should get worse with speed, not better.

OME keeps the pinion angle correct, so I doubt that's it, but possible and easy to check.

On mine, after the lift, I got a vibration, worse on deceleration, from a worn rear pinion bearing, which is very common at high miles.

Thanks for the replies. I did not take the drive line loose so I don't think it is out of phase. Angle is not severe at all. We had it sitting on (6) jack stands, removed old, installed new and let her down. Things went smoothly, no surprises so I was surprised at the vibration occurance.

I had the same vibration (kind of a low, bass-like rumble) after I put on my OME's. It went away on it's own after I swapped the rear thirds out. Since I didn't have reference marks to go by, I just turned the flange untill it felt the most "centered".

I also experienced the worn pinion bearing with a used third, but it was a completely different type of vibration.
