I apologize in advance if this topic has already been discussed, I only have access to a mobile device and the search function is not the best.

I have a 1999 LC and wanted the advetised 3" lift from the 2863's, but according to the fitment catalog, the 2863 are designed for a 00-07 vehicle and 98-99 must settle for the 2864's with an advertised lift of 1.5".

Can anyone confirm that I can use the 2863 springs on a 99 or should I settle for the 2964's.

Please see attached.

Thanks!

I think the 863 and 864s are the same height, but the 864s are super heavy , so they will actually sag less and actually be higher.

I can't say about application to a 99, because I have an 05, but I know that with my OME mediums plus a spacer, my truck was the same height or lower than my 864s alone.

You also definitely need to think about your uses, if you don't have a lot of armor, winches, roof racks, drawers etc, you almost assuredly don't need 864s. They are unflexible beasts.

You can definitely run 863's in the rear but I would advise you consult with one of the reputable OME installers on this site to see if your weight/load will result in the actual 3" lift and ride you desire.

Thank you for the reply. So even though the sheet says the 2963s are for a 2000 plus year model, I can run it on my 1999?

Yes, you can run 863's in your '99. You can even run 863J's in your '99... if you really wanted to.

Don't pay any attention to the listed model years above, they are irrelevant. The springs all interchange between any year of non-AHC 100 series. Just find the one that gets you to ride and height you want.

Don't get heavies unless you have a constant load. They will make your kidneys bleed on rough surfaces. 865's with no load in back get me to 3", with a nice ride.

I have a full metal rear bumper with a spare swing out. The whole set up is ~400lb out back. Do you think the 863s will work well?

Yes

I have both sets of springs for my '99. I usually run the 863's. The rear of the truck has a BIOR dual swing out rear bumper, sliders, and drawers. Ride is nice and smooth. When we load up for our yearly trip out west, I swap in the 864s for the heavier load of cooler, gear, roof topper, etc. and it rides almost identical to the "unloaded" 863s. The 864's without all the gear has a harsh ride, and gives you a stinkbug stance. No matter which set you choose, definitely get a set of extended sway bar links.

Where's the best place to get a set? I see some online that are black and other sets are whiteish..
I would buy from one of the vendors that supports this community. Cruiser Outfitters would be a good one.
