tab,
good point...I should have added a bit about relative position of the suspension, including tire, at full compression, etc. The shock one runs, including of course bottom out of same, as well as the compression bump stops (lower control arm) and adjustment of same will effect where the wheel/tire ends up at the bottom of compression.

And given whether OEM LCA bump stops or Timbren, are being used etc., most of these bumps will have additional over-travel via further compression of the material which is dependent upon force of compression. Until more recent off-road travels I had a propensity to pretend I was in a desert runner...:bang:. Big fun...but also a relative big price to pay for such behavior

Having said that I learned the hard-knock way...and now have crumpled and hammered out front fenders as my badge of learning (some might say stupidity :D)...

Many, many variables that do effect the outcome...and no simple yes/no to "will 35's clear without issue...". And per Christo's words to me many years ago...35's on a 100 come at a price. Those pushing into 35" territory on a 100 best heed his sage advice! Can be done...but the exponential downsides are numerous.

Not necessarily for a mild roll. The fender liners can be reshaped with the use of a heat gun and wet towel.

I know this is an old post but wanted to see what some of you went with on tires. And now that this post is a few years old, did you encounter any issues with going with a larger tire.

I just picked up an 03 TLC a couple of months ago and my first upgrade were 275/70/18 KO2s. I'm thinking of having the 2.5" lift installed but I'm thinking afterwards the rig may look under tired.

I am running the Nitto 295/70R18's in my LX with no lift. (AHC) I get a super slight rub on the plastic covering the pinch weld and a slight rub on the frame at full lock. When in AHC high mode, I only rub the plastic on the pinch weld when stuffed.

HTH.
I have a 2006 LX with AHC. Looking to put new tires on. I am hearing most I can get under there at Norma height is 275/65/18. Did you lock out your AHC in high?

I do not. The 295s are just fine with a bare minimum rub until I hammer the pinch welds. I have run 40k miles on 295s so far.

I also regeared to 4.88s to avoid the extra strain on the transmission and keep all the shift points in the right place.

after the regear, what is your rpm at say, 75mph? what year is your LC?

Dunno exactly been a while since I have driven it. My speedo is exactly accurate so I would says it's exactly where it was with stock sized tires and gears. It's an 01 LX470. HTH.
