hello to all, i recently read about an adjustment for the rear brakes if one has installed a lift. something to do about the proportioning valve. i wanted to know if this is something that most of you have done after installing a lift. am i losing that much braking power to the rear wheels by not doing it. thanks.

When I had the OME 2.5 I did not adjust the LSPV for 3 yrs. My rig stopped without any troubles. Once I bumped up to about 4" I did adjust it.

One thing I did not have that you do is all the added weight. You have to consider the impact of the sliders and ARB bumper. Inertias a bitch.

Which leads me to a question. When someone adds heavy aftermarket bumperage and winch to the 80 is there any way to adjust the front to back braking ratio? Is there any sense to this? With all the nose weight will it dive a little in the front, unweighing the rear some, diminishing rear braking effectiveness?

TY

I believe if you move the valve down about a 1/4" this will do the trick. When you loosen the two nuts and push it down there is only about a 1/4" of play. I'm sure somebody will chime in with a more technical explanation. :)
