Hi to all the Canucks. Just got my annual bonus and I'm allocating part of it for new suspension for the cruiser. Where's the best place to get a full set of OME springs and shocks in Canada? Any help and direction is very greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I picked mine up on a road trip to California. You could check with 4 wheel auto in Edmonton.

4 Wheel Auto Wholesale -LANDCRUISER PARTS

Don't know what might be out east.

If you can't find a decent price in Canada (which I would suspect will be the case), and it looks like you will be shipping from south, I would go with Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters, he offers good service.

i ordered mine from the states...some 350 shipping to my door. i ordered from kurt @ cruiser outfitter. this was a full kit around 360lbs.
i know 'just jeeps' in toronto and 'national 4x4' in oakville/burlington are both arb dealers but i dont know the prices. 4wheel auto wholesales, i know its kinda expensive, but work out around the same with shipping...
i got lucky when ordered mine the canadian dollar was at 1.10 american...

If you aren't in a hurry, and can find someone headed down to Moab or Cali, maybe Mudship would work out for the shipping.

not in a huge rush. I plan on doing the work myself in the spring time. I would like to get all the parts obviously the most economical way. Cruiser outfitters seems to be a decent price for the full kit. Shipping seems like it would be the kicker with this one. What about this Mudship thing?

yeah dude, i just remembered that i saw a guy in orangeville with a set of used/new(more new) with shakles. if you pm me i will give you his #

Mudders helping mudders move stuff. I don't know how much traffic this section gets though. If Lost has tracked down a good set in Ont., I suspect that would be the way to go. Make sure you get greasable pins and shackles (easy to ship if you need to get them separately), they make a difference, even with the stock springs.

Hi Nathan,
l am a ARB/OME dealer in Winnipeg, have a set of 60 series Dakar in stock.

Yes,there are about 40 different series (40,42,60,80,81,61,74,77)of Landcruisers in Winnipeg,about10 JDM,4 BJ42s rockcrawlers with toybox that l built,we wheel blackhills a few times,Moab once,Roughrider roundervous in Northdakota a few times. There is a guy name Andrew in Brandon l sold my 93 FZJ80 to,he also has a couple of 60 series.
l don't have a website yet, have a auto repair shop doing mostly imports and almost all the Landcruisers in Winnipeg.l also import from Japan.
Don't carry a lot of other lines because of low sales in Winnipeg and time imvolve .People here like internet shopping.
Drop by next time you visit.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to drop by next time I'm visiting my brother! There's a shop (Twin Auto) in Brandon I trust ahead of most of the run of the mill shops in Edmonton (cheaper back home too), but I'll have to keep the idea of a TLC shop in Winnipeg in mind next time I want something done I'm not comfortable with on my own.

OME vs Monroe Gas Magnum

Hey Everyone,
Anyone have any experience with the OME shocks versus the Monroe Gas Magnums my local shop are trying to sell me for $89 each? I have a LJ78 which is very badly behaved on rough roads right now. Gotta do something, rides like a buckin' bronco.

Hey all canucks,

But in my heavy/heavy ome lift in a couple of months ago and got the whole kit sent to me from Steve at EBI Cruiser Parts. Super guy to deal with and he had the kit shipped to me for less than two hundred. (Vancouver to Ottawa) Also would be a good idea to check out National 4WD as they are actually an ARB distributer and told me they could have gotten the kit for me...They have a shop in Montreal by the way, that I went to to pick up my ARB winch bull bar from not to long ago. Also great guys there that I highly recommend and that actually sell their products for the same price in Canada as in the US.

You might want to price out the OEM shocks from Toyota (if you have stock height), they are supposedly a decent price.
