Went fishing this morning with a friend. On the way out I burst a heater hose during high revs through a big mud hole. I don't know how long I drove it before I noticed the needle in the red zone. I immediatley shut it off. I had some hose, so the replacement was no big deal. We went into town in My friends 40 and got some water, replaced what had drained out. No problem so far. Heater gauge returned to normal and the truck ran well on the way out.
We stopped for lunch on the way out and when I tried to start it up it went Chunk a couple of times before cranking. By the time I got home the temp gauge was on the rise again. When I stopped and tried to restart in the driveway I get chunk again and a very difficult start, which sort of labored after it got running. Carb fan is out--may play a role, though its never been a problem. I went through a good bit of wet, gooey mud, got stuck and pulled once--Maybe moisture in something electrical? Why the overheating? Whats the chunk? Starter? Belt slipping?
any thoughts anyone?
