Major lurker here.
And, yes I have used the search function.
I have looked at the tire wheel database.
Yet still I'm confused a bit about what to do.
Hope I don't get tarred and feathered for what seems to be a common topic.

Been ISO 17" rock warriors, not going well.
That said I love the Fuel Anza's as well as the Fuel Beast wheels.
Offset is what has me concerned.
I know stock is 60.
Will 25 offset and 285/70/17s rub?

Sticking with stock suspension on my '15 200.
Love the BFG KO2's.

In short, would truly appreciate input on what tire-wheel combo anyone can recommend on a stock suspension 200 to make it look less mundane and keep me outa trouble. Don't mind trimming a little.

17's and 70s, 18s and 60s?
Rub no rub?

Or simply, pics of yours so I can copycat.
Lol

Nice looking garage setup!!! Let me try to shed a bit of light on this for ya! On your stock 18's you can roll 285/65 R18's or 275/70 R18's with little to no rub. You can roll the RW's which have a 50mm offset and 285/70 R18's with no problems. You said you like the Fuel Anza's, that's what I roll right now. They are only available in the 5x150 in an 18 inch wheel so far as I know!?(no 17 inch option) That said if you roll the Fuel Anza's they have a 25mm offset, but only come in a 9 inch wheel(stock & RW's are 8), which is going to increase the odds of rubbing! Your best bet with no lift would be the RW's with 285/70 R17's IMO. If you rolled the Fuel Anza's with no lift and 285/60 R18's it might work, not sure! You would need a 6 pack and a sawsal forsure:)

SADDLE, NO PONY (YET)

I don't have a Land Cruiser (well, a 200 - yet), but I am a compulsive planner. While waiting for some liquidity (home sale), I have accumulated Terrain Tamer lift kit, Harrop/Eaton ELockers and diff rebuild kits, HP brake rotors/pads, etc. PLUS a set of NIB OEM Rock Warriors with trim rings, hardware, etc. Here were my options, as I saw them:
  • Plan A - Buy new. Before they went out of production, dealers were selling them for under $400 at retail but now some dealers are asking close to $600 if they have stock. I have seen some online listings at good prices, but the ones I tried are "stale" prices and not available at posted prices.
  • Plan B - Refinished rims can be had for under $200 but then you need to pay freight, buy new trim/install bits, etc. so your looking at close to $350 all in.
  • Plan C - Used rums/rings can be had, often at good prices, but then most require some clean-up. You have to keep at it.
Nothing wrong with any of these options. They are great products and worth the effort/expense.

I am planning on a new 200 so it seemed right to go new and I found a dealer who got them for me at a good price.I wanted standard charcoal finish with brushed rims so new worked for me. If I were going with a different color, no trim rings or PC colored trim rings, I would have gone with take-offs from the salvage yard.

Nice rims - thinking of getting some six-holers for my '02 Tacoma

Here is the latest part number - there were other P/Ns used early in the production run.

Good luck in your search!

Much thanks Kreiten!
And I have long drooled over your rig, perfect imo.
I'd love to find that warehouse of Rock Warriors!
A few CL finds all I've come up with so far but to no avail just yet.

And, a Sawzall and 6 pack you say???
What could be better, and what could go wrong!?
As long as the BFH stays in its drawer all good!
Thanks man.

Hate to derail, but this is related...

Krieten, do you know if BFG Mud Terrains (that's what you're using now right?) of any size will fit a stock 2016 18 wheel without rubbing? It's going to be a year before I get icon suspension and it's mostly mud here in Louisiana. Would prefer not to cut anything since I'll eventually be getting the lift.

yep, I'm rolling the 285/70 R18 KM2's right now. I've been putting them thru a ton of abuse and really like them! I only added them after my lift and wheels so I don't have any first hand experience on how they would fit with no lift and factory wheels. I know @Hellatoy is running them on his rig with no lift and factory wheels and said he has very little rubbing. Maybe he can give us an update. based on this post below I would say you should be able to run them. Cheers!

Maybe it is all tires, but my truck rides better on the 17" RW rims than it does with the 18". The 18" rims are running a new set of Michelin tires where the 17" are an old set of Toyo open county....

more side wall more plush ride

You could go for the Tundra TRD pro wheels. They come in a 18in and look great IMO. But I'm biased.

The width of the wheel itself shouldn't effect rubbing since it is still centered at whatever the wheel offset is and the tires are typically wider than the wheel. Put differently, a 285-70-18 tire that doesn't rub on a 8.5" wide wheel shouldn't rub when on 9" wide wheel all other things being equal like tire brand, wheel offset, etc. At least this is my understanding and 2 cents.

A wider wheel totally changes if and where the tire will rub. For a quick test turn your tires all the way one way, now envision that tire/wheel combo being one inch wider(out further). It will hit in the front of the inner fender more, the back of the inner fender more(when turned the opposite way) etc... The width of the wheel will not however affect whether or not you rub on the UCA per say(depending on wheel offset). My other point was you can't compare offsets of wheels with different widths by just looking at the offset number. The clearance on the UCA of a 8 inch wheel with 50mm offset and a 9 inch wheel with 50mm offset will be different.

What you're describing is still only true if the the tire is NOT wider than the wheel. Think about it; the widest part of the wheel/tire combo (especially on trucks) is typically near the edge of the tire tread or along the sidewall, not at the wheel, regardless of whether we are talking about 8" or 9" wide wheels. So unless rubbing on the control arm or other suspension parts behind the hub is where the rubbing occurs, the width of the wheel doesn't effect whether rubbing occurs or not. The tire width and overall diameter and wheel offset certainly do. Have you ever rubbed your actual wheel/rim on your truck?
