Just was my cruiser and still see imperfections on my windsheild and it is annoying as hell. Im sure you other cruiser owners have seen or experienced this. Is clay OK and safe to remove the dirt or should I use a NON-Abrasive cleanser? Which one is safer/better? Thanks
A clay bar works fine for getting off sap and bugs and tar etc, but it won't do anything for defects in the glass itself. This stuff woks great for minor stuff:
I use a D/A sander with a foam pad and Meguiars paint cleaner ( not sure which one I have like 5) to buff out the windows. Works especially good for hard to get off water spots.
Yes, I do it as part of the process of detailing the rig, just remember to use the lubricant the clay comes with, OR use an empty squirt bottle, fill it with water and about a teaspoon of dawn, shake er up and use that as lube. As someone mentioned, it wont work at all with defects but as the title to the thread asked, it will remove fine particles from the glass. Ohh, eastwood makes a great kit to buff glass. HTH
