Can someone explain to me what I am missing. My 77 2f isn't oiling the rocker assembly. There is a small channel under the assembly that runs to one of the holes that a head bolt goes in. The bolt didn't have oil on it when I removed it. Is there a special bolt that is supposed to go here or something wrong with the head gasket or another channel that I am missing that may be stopped up? Thanks for any help.

could be alot of things... head gasket, rocker could be put together wrong, or cam bearings could be installed wrong...

to check head gasket look in the back of the head... right by the firewall, you should be able to feel a tab sticking out, that is the head gasket will extend past the end of the head.

It is possible to install the headgasket upside down which covers the oiling hole from the block to the head. The rocker assembly is oiled via one of the rockerstands. There are 5 and I think it is #3 or #4 that is drilled.

If you flip it end for end, it IS upside down:flipoff2:

Oh, and IIRC, you should be able to look at the back of the head and see about 3/8" of gasket sticking out and none on the front of the head. If the excess is in the front, it is backwards/upside down whatever and is blocking the oiling passage.

Don't want to get someone blown up the wilcat's a**. Thanks guys. I think the gasket is in upside down or backwards. Looks like I am pulling the head.
