on my way home after picking up the new 80 i noticed that the oil pressure gadge was saying that it had no oil pressure. what do i do to diagnoss this?

I had a wire to the sensor get broken once. Had to order a new wiring harness for that and another sensor. Ordered it from C-Dan.

In my situation, I could clearly see that the wire was broken.

The wiring harness starts on the passenger side of the engine compartment. and runs down to engine block. IIRC, there are two sensors that this harness connects to. It might be a good point to check first. If th e wires are okay, it could be the sensor itself.

thing is i wassent driving it, brilliant brother was driving, thanks for the information.

Shortly after I purchased my 80, I noticed that the oil pressure was reading too low on the gage. I removed the sending unit (located on the front passenger side of the engine under the exhaust manifold) and hooked up a mechanical gage to test it out. Engine tested perfect according to the FSM. Replaced the sending unit and my dash gage reads great now. Hope yours is something as easy as mine was.
