I guess if my truck runs out of oil the only lights that I will see will be the backup lights on the tow truck. :)

Isnt there a red oil light that comes on when you turn the ignition to ON?

Can't explain why but an oil "low pressure" light does not physically exist in my cluster. The key temporarily actives only 3 lights....battery, preheat, and filter.

My oil level light is about 6-7mm square and sits between the oil pressure gauge and battery gauge.
I just had a look at another and it does not have the oil level light there,so it must be something only 2nd generation HZJ75's had.
That pic I posted on the previous page is the same as mine, because the vertcial white line between the pressure/battery gauge is interrupted by the oil level light

"It must be something only 2nd generation HZJ75's had." ..........
In other words the "fancy" trucks have oil pressure lights.:)
The good news.....if I run out of oil the engine will probably make a loud "knocking" noise to alert me....oh never mind it already does that.

No the fancy pants trucks have oil level lights:cool:

the oil presure sender needs two cables, but what kind of connection cable is the one in the midlle of the top, i tell you what i have,i have an electrical oil pressure sender whit the light in the dash, now the adapter idea is great so i can put another gauge in the cabin witch is mecanical. But i have two cables and not one of them fits neither the electric one and the other, it's one cable for earth i guess and has no connector on it and the other has a grey connector of some kind, if i hold the two cables against each other the oil lights switches on, it's starting to P.... me off :mad:http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ6PxQUAhaWhRRcgwPc_qKnQHFPAu53TAMxPaHCLFQ1wZ6rUXRzXZegJovqif you look at this picture thats the connector i mean,it's not my one picture and it is impossible to slide it over the connection of the sender unit:confused:

For us with the EDIC, when it is still working....if the engine run out of oil, the EDIC will shut the engine off, just like if it was running reverse...hopefully!

Do you mean like the type in the ebay link? That one has 2 connections one is for earth and the other for power.
But it doesnt need the earth wire ,some older landcruisers from the 70s had the earth connected but later Toyota abandoned the idea as the sender is already earthed through the engine.
The one on the top is the power wire

i mean,it's not my one picture and it is impossible to slide it over the connection of the sender unit

Maybe someone changed it

yes,i think they changed it but what kind of connection is required for the power then, how is yours connected, thanks

yes I got it now,by the way does it have to be an original toyota 24V oil pressure sender or is any good

If its the type in the ebay link, any 24 volt sender will do. The ones made in Thailand are not much good, but a Taiwanese one will be as good as Toyota
