I am missing the "washer" #60 in illustration below. It looks more like a short section of pipe or tube. I believe it is needed to keep slight pressure on the spring and O-ring, and keep oil from leaking out the bottom, when it is all assembled. I plan to fab a piece out of copper plumbing line, or similar.

Anybody have a dimension for the height of part #60?

Right on all counts, except you're going to want to use steel rather than soft copper, vibration would tear it up. I don't have one apart at the moment, but if no one chimes in with the dimensions today, could take one apart.

It looks like if I just recycle the two rubber grommets left over from the previous filter and adding a washer will add enough pressure on the tiny O-ring. Can fits between nut and O-ring. Does this look right? This will get me to first start. I'll switch it out when I know the dimension.

Checked my spare only to find it had been gutted. I recall the spacer being about 3/4" tall someone else will need to check. Spacer just orients the filter on the pipe, seal of the filter is made by the lid and bolt putting tension on the bottom of the pipe.

I found out that the 'washer' really is not needed. When you tighten the bolt on the lid everything get cinched together; bolt tightens and squished O-ring, which prevents oil not leaking out the bottom.

Thank Cruiser_Nerd. I posted came to the same conclusion you posted as I was assembling things. I appreciate you input!
