So while fueling up at Costco just now... A 4Runner did the normal thing and tried to pull around me to the next pump as it vacated.

Unfortunately, misjudging the turn, he scraped the back half of his truck on mine...scraping through a bit of powder coat...leaving silver and marring (see below)...but his truck? Aw man...it was NOT PRETTY! He cut in way too early and dragged clear though his right rear door, fender, etc. Reminded me of @Atwalz this summer when he had an unfortunate accident, though not that deep.

He was super apologetic/upset and obviously very embarrassed as he scrambled to retrieve his wallet...telling me he'll pay for it, etc.

BUT...You should have seen the look on his face when I looked at my bumper, paused, and said "Don't worry about it... I scrape it on rocks, and then I just paint it. I'll just pretend you were another rock. Put your wallet away."

-He stood there with his mouth literally hanging open for about 5 seconds...and then said THANK YOU about 15 times. :)

So this was my TJM T13 about 20 minutes ago:

But after a brillo pad from the sink...a little rubbing alcohol to remove dirt and dust...and a bit of Satin Black rattle can...

Literally 5 or 10 minutes later:

Tada!

My only regret? -In my hurry to reassure him he didn't owe me big bucks...I forgot to shoot a photo of his truck. Oops!

Anyway... Armor works, and was MADE to be touched up.
No touch-ups on your armor yet? Git out there and scrape it up! Really. It’s OK. :hillbilly::steer:

That’s awesome! For those with ARB armor you can buy ARB touch up paint to match exactly which I’ve used several times.

That's cool ARB offers that. I just used Satin-Black Rustoleum that bonds with plastic & metal (since powder-coat is basically melted plastic)... Maybe not 100% perfect, but close enough for my pin-striped rig. :)

So you've hit a deer and now a 4Runner? Putting that metal to good use!

Ya, I'm sorry a little rattle can couldn't fix the deer... :frown: But at least he didn't suffer.

But anyway... this bumper keeps paying for itself...

Mark,
What was the reason again why you chose this over ARB? Do they have rear bumpers to?

Definitely paid for itself.

Mark - You've got a bank load of "Good Human" Karma saved up from this an many other instances! Rattle can Rust-O-Lium has been working for me on the undercarriage and other areas for the last 2 years.

I like to say they hit me...:hillbilly:...but definitely getting my money’s worth...yes. :)

Gotta armor up to go to Costco!!! With all the impatient masses there, this has to be a common occurrence. Glad your armor served you well.

He needs to paint little icons on the driver door, just below the window. One for the deer and a rising sun flag for the 4Runner.

I'm thinking a Browning antler and a TAG decals in back window with a / thru them

Ha! :) But I'm not targeting deer or 4Runners! Promise! :)

Honestly, I was sad about the deer...
-but I would have even more sad if both the deer AND my radiator/hood/grill (and Breck Trip) were destroyed...
Bummer for the Deer...but that deer was doomed either way. Glad it was the only casualty!
