I also have a used mini truck windshield for free. This and the winch cable are getting tossed soon if no one wants them.
I can use the windshield if its still available

Anyone need a solid cowl and windshield frame from an mid-60s FJ40?

Make a fair offer.

ISO - 40 series compatible sheet metal. I'm getting ready to try my hand at welding in some patches on the old dirty girl. Any old Toyota sheet metal would be ideal. Obviously I can go buy some new stuff but everything I've been told is that similar year OEM panels would be best. Anyway, I just figured I would check...

Thanks!

IMO new metal is easier to weld in than old. Who said similar year oem panels cut up to serve as patches were better?

Misc conversations with misc people / body guys / etc. :)

It's possible I swapped the word "cheaper" with "better" in some of those conversations. I just know that recommendation was offered more than once. And if someone was getting ready to toss something, it might work nicely for my purposes...

Nevertheless, I'm open to suggestions. Do you have a preferred spot to get new metal?

Around you I don't know too well, but if you're near an Alro, use them.

Or if you only need small pieces or are lazy, order from coremark metals. I’ve used them before and they ship quick.

Justin.

Ryerson and alro in Greensboro would likely have what you need. Both around triad farmers mkt off 40/sandy ridge area. I assume the plant in 421/77 does not sell/distribute from that location.

Alro has an outlet location with scraps n drops off s elm Eugene just south of 40.

Also if it was of if Interest I’m sure you could pilfer sheet metal off my 80. It would be 30 yrs newer and painted. Not sure how composition or thicknesses compare but your welcome to it if it helps.
