35 12.5 15 bfg m/t (5)

Holding off for now - seller sold tires out from under me, so I'm falling back and regrouping.

OH?? That deal worked out? Excellent man, I think you'll be happy with those meats you picked up:D

I decided I want a 98-04 Tacoma ext or dbl cab or a 99-02 4runner must be 4x4, 3.4 v6, and automatic. Prefer under 150k miles and $7k or less. Will consider up to 180k miles but has to be really clean and $ must be right.

Prefer silver, grey, black, green or blue. No red.

Between flaky sellers and other issues (no TB records, no english, no response, rust, etc) I can't seem to put my hands on the right one for the right $.

Let me know if you see or know of something over your holiday travel.

The guy selling it is a little quirky. He is hard to communicate and his posts are hard to understand. I really want to know how hard it is to capitalize every word in a post.

Been communicating with him for a while. first he wanted my spare axle set to return to stock but then because I had 93+ brake lines instead of the 92 lines he wouldn't take them even when I dropped the price so he could get the right ones. He then asked me about the axles 5 more times seemingly forgetting each time that I didn't have the right brake lines.

I then offered him a trade for the locked geared axles with the right brake lines swapped in so it was a plug and play application for him. And I would take the portals which he initially liked but then wanted me to give him 3k on top of that even though price wise the ballpark number was around the same. Then wanted me to deliver the axles to him and pick the portals up at my expense with out him paying anything for shipping.

He then said the portals were going under another rig. Then that they had been scrapped. Not quite sure what is going on there.

The numerous times i've talked to him it seems like i've been talked to 3 or 4 different people.

Awesome truck though, george does great work.

Yeah saw that too much $ for me looked cool though. I miss our old '97 runner. Should have never sold it. Looked at a '99 at a lot today on my way home in Fountain Inn. Flaky rust in the rear frame. Another guy up in Aberdeen, NC has a '02 with a few mods, sent me 50 pics-- rust, at least he told me it had been in NJ for a few years.

Another '02 Sport in Charlotte guy has had on cl since dec. 10 went back and forth with him then he decideds he doesn't want to sell??

I don't think my request is this difficult but it sure is aggravating.

I have a warn front that's seen some use. I have a local guy interested but if he doesnt get it in the next few weeks you are welcome to it. Asking $400. Just pm me in a few weeks and I'll let you know.

I also have a 5.29 ifs front diff. Only had a few interested that want it shipped. I'll take $125 for it locally. It does need one of the side seals replaced which I have been told is common.

Lets talk about this bike. Mtn one. I am about 5.9 on a good day.

Can the front forks be easily changed out to some good shock ones ? that is what i would like. Everything on it work like it should ? Anything really need to be changed out prior to just riding it for some time. IE does stuff need to be gone thru like the head or anything ?

Sorry I missed this Darin.

Forks could be swapped out for suspension but that does lead to a value point issue. The older forks without disc brakes are out there but harder to find or old stock. I will make you a deal on the bike without the hydraulic brakes if you wanted to persue that.

being completely honest though i would suggest you look at modern rides with the fork already on it from a price point. I saw some decent mid level rides at Sports Authority of all places. K2 , used to be noleen, and Pro-flex before that. Front suspension fork, disc brakes and decent components on sale for 400.

Id love to sell mine but I am afraid if you want to add the fork then it would get to 400 pretty fast and while all parts are pretty new and operate fine, they are 95 vintage and the bike tech has come a long way.

let me know what you are thinking. the only "issue" is I put a 8 spd shifter on the 7 spd system so there is a bit of a ghost shift that im perfectly used to. I do have 7 spd shifters if you wanted to go that way intstead and new brakes for the fork if you didnt want the hydraulics.

Jason speaks the truth Darin.

The fact is there are 3 major bicycle manufacturers in the world, "most" bikes come out of these 3 factories. Finding a front shock will be hard to find under $200 that is "decent".

All the bells and whistles on bikes don't mean crap if the bike doesn't "fit" you and the sublte differences are simply marketing tools. I've still got bikes that are 15 years old that I'd rather keep running and tuned up than spend $$$ on today's crap.

It's a good time of year to be looking CL over for those selling their cast-offs from Christmas upgrades...

Any of you Triangle guys have a good POC at Fred Anderson for parts? Seeing Jerry's brand-spanking-new H55 on the floor of his garage has be contemplating getting one as long as I'll have the T-case off and pulled apart. Now that the old POC guy is gone, looking for anybody who is down with the ONSC Struggle!

I was wondering if there would be a difference in the price of an H55 from Fred Anderson compared to Man-a-Fre but... since I don't have that kind of money right now at all I didn't bother to ask. Post up if you find out a price.
