Wait what? When did this price drop, how did I miss this? $69 shipped?

Sorry if my last post was confusing, it has always been, and still is the same price. $69 is just the price of the clamp, not including any tax (if your in Colorado), or the $11.30 shipping. Once I have completed units ready to ship, the base price of $69 will be increasing.

OK thanks, I did reread and answered my own bone headed question, so how much time do I have left to scratch together some $

Right now it's looking like we'll be ready to start shipping at the end of the month, or just after the first of March depending on how long the anodizers take.

I validated the first set of clamp halves at the machine shop this morning and they did a great job with running the first parts. They are going to finish running them today and tomorrow. I should be able to pick them up in the afternoon. I expect that the anodizing will take 1 to 1-1/2 weeks so we should be shipping around the end of this month to the first week of March.

Here's a video of one of the machining ops.

Wow you need to find new anodizers. We do thousands of parts a week and its a 24hr turn around unless we do bright-dip which is an additional 24hrs.

Surprisingly there only seems to be 2 places that everyone around Denver recommends. The shop that I went with was the most highly recommended when quality and consistency of work was brought up. Every time I have dropped parts off there, they always ask when I need them back as if it were up to me, but up until now it didn't really matter because I was waiting on the extrusion, and the machining to be done anyway. However, now that this is the last step in the process that I will have to wait on, maybe I can get them to expedite the process if I let them know that I will be waiting each and every day for them to be done. Being that I am a little guy, compared to the majority of their customers, I didn't see any reason to rush them when it wasn't going to make a difference for me. They are really nice to work with, and I want to maintain a good relationship with them by being easy to work with. I will talk to them and see just how quickly I can get the parts back this time, but I think the big difference here is that you have thousands of parts done every week, and I am only having hundreds of parts done without knowing when I will be bringing them more business.

By the way, I asked them about bright-dip and they looked at me like I was crazy. Apparently there's not any shops in Colorado that have done bright-dip in a long time because of the EPA regulations. I don't really know any of the details, but it sounds like it is really hazardous stuff to work with.

Bright Dip is EPA regulated for sure. In fact you can only run it for a limited number of hours here in CA. The finish though is drop dead gorgeous and doesn't get that ashy patina over time the way standard Type II does.

Will these mount to the third row seatbelt anchor, the one on the d pillar, on an 80 and have enough room for the Kiddie, would you expect any downward slipping having them ride there?

Glad I have a couple weeks to put some more $ together and hope they fit where I want to stick them.

Warezdog, I'm sorry but I can't answer your question on that, and I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner. Maybe someone else can help you with it, but you will need a total of roughly 7" of space (from side to side) for the clamps to open all the way. You don't need that much space when you're removing the extinguisher, but only to lock it open for putting the extinguisher back in it. Every clamp will come with two clamps to install on either side of the extinguisher (above and below the mount) to keep it from being able to slip out due to repeated road vibration or if you are in an accident.

All of the clamp halves are at the anodizer and are supposed to be ready for pickup by Friday afternoon. We should have them all assembled and ready to ship by Monday morning.

This will be the last friendly reminder that the $69 price will be increasing once I start shipping on Monday morning.

You wouldn't have a picture of the above and below clamps with the extinguisher would you?

Never mind I caught the video, going to measure to see if the rear pillar seat belt anchor will work.

Do you have a rough idea on price increase? Not sure if I'll have enough left on Fridays payday after opening my last power bill, yikes!

The clamps that are included are all stainless as shown below. I wanted to include some of the really fancy T-Bolt clamps, but they are just too expensive. I searched everywhere trying to find them for less than $5 a piece, but didn't have any luck. I think many people would have lost interest if the mount cost another $10 because of the two clamps. This way, if someone wanted to upgrade later on, they could do it very easily, but would have everything they needed to properly install the mount when they receive it.

As far as the price increase is concerned, I am guessing it will be around $5-$10, but I'm not really sure yet.

The moment you've all been waiting for is finally here. I present you with "Number One", assembled and ready to ship (only I'm keeping this particular one for myself . All orders will be shipping out on Monday morning!

Does anyone have any installed pics yet? I'd love to see them.

Just as a reminder to those looking to purchase now, the new price is $74.95 + $11.30 shipping, total $86.25 for 1 mount.

I plan on building my drawer boxes for the 80 next week. The plan has been to integrate the mount and ext. into one of them. I'll snap some photos once complete.

I would love to have a couple of these but between the CVT group buy, a front axle rebuild, and a PS pump starting to groan it's going to be a while. Are you planning on selling these until they're gone or will this be something you'll have around on the shelf for a period of time?

It's really hard to say, it mostly depends on how quickly I can sell the ones I have. I will tell you that I have roughly 90 left in stock ready to go, and approximately 150 more that can be ready within 2-3 weeks, but I need to sell the existing 90 just to be able to finish manufacturing the remaining 150. If you were to do some math on that, you'd know that my profit margin is not very high at all. I've told people all along that I'm not making these because I think I'm going to get rich. To be honest, I need to sell a LOT more just to cover the manufacturing costs up to this point, but I do enjoy doing it.

With that being said, I'm at a pivotal point where this could either continue, or abruptly end with a lot of debt. I'm just like the majority of you guys out there with a full time job, and for this to be worth doing, it has to become profitable, which at the moment it is not, and I cannot afford to continue funding this out of my personal bank account. However, I will not reduce the quality of what I manufacture just to make a few more bucks. I hope that people will recognize the durability and quality of these mounts, and spread the word that it is a product worthy of the "Made In the USA" text that I've put on them right next to my logo. For those of you who have purchased a mount, if you think it is a good product, PLEASE let others know how you feel about it. If you think there is a flaw in the design, or in the quality, or anything else PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP, and I will address it. I may, or may not be able to do anything about it on the current run of quick release extinguisher mounts, but I will do my best to correct the issue immediately if I have the ability to do so.

On a side note, I wanted to give everyone a heads up that there is a good deal on Amazon right now for the FA-110 extinguisher which happens to be the model that I used to design this mount with. You can pick up a two pack for $49.00 with free shipping when the single ones are $33.00 each. If you don't have an extinguisher to go with your mount yet, this isn't a bad deal. There are other extinguishers out there that will work just as well, but make sure that they actually are 3-1/4" in diameter.
