I am keenly aware of the delicate outer lip of the alloys as there is very little of mine left. My question was specifically directed to Kurt, who doesn't seem to be a big rock crawler type.

sure! I agree with you there.

hope your feelings weren't hurt as my point was not to put you down. I just figured a main *reason* for some of us going to steelies should be expressed.

I like the factory wheels (I know some 80's with them on) as they retain the look of the oem alloys. Also, if I remember correctly, they use the same lug nuts as my 93 alloys. I'm not sure if the aftermarket ones do. (anyone know?)

Curran, are you in Frederick? I drive through there all the time for work :)
You stationed there or live there? Coming to Paragon for the Pre-GSMTR run?

wanna fight Kurt???

I'll meet you outside! :D

Do a search for "Tundra Wheels" on ebay and it usually turns up a least a few hits of the Tundra OEM steel wheels for about $100. My local Toy dealer (I think it was Toyota of Grapevine) had the wheels for $70 buy-it-now on eBay a while back. Call your local Toyota dealer and inquire about the "cheap" Tundra take-offs as it cost almost as much to ship the heavy steel wheels (~30 lbs? each) across the country.

You can also try Tundrasolutions website. They have Tundra owners selling their OEM steel wheels after upgrading them.

You would want the center caps for these steel wheels as the center cap also covers up the lug nuts.

I have the center caps for mine, but they don't fit on the LC. I'll double check that to be sure.

Kurt - check out your Toyota dealers for these as they're not worth shipping. Just go to the Service Dept Manager and politely let him know what you're looking for. Ask which tire shop he deals with as he's the guy who gets aftermarket wheels put on the Tundras. That shop will likely have several pairs of these steel "takeoffs" laying around, or they'll be selling them to the local junk yard. WIth that information, go to the manager of the tire shop and ask if you can buy 4 of them from him for $80 next time he gets a Tundra from the Toyota dealer. He probably gets $5 a wheel from the junk yard, so he'll be happy to do this. That's essentially how I got mine.

I've always been partial to the "modular style" black steelies.

These are $62 a pop at summitracing.com

Not entirely sure about the fitment of them, but I think they'd probably work.

Yeah I live in Frederick now. I've been out for about three years now, but I recently got recalled to active duty. That's why I put the S-Patch back on.
When is the pre-GSMTR Run? I hadn't heard of that one. I was looking at the trip next weekend that Texus is trying to organize to Rausch Creek.

30th
nothing formal, just some of the gotham guys and one or two of my friends heading up to Paragon that Sat
