Looking for an OEM carb for an FJ40.
Also interested in related parts such as hardware, air cleaner, intake tube, bvsv, ect....

Make an offer on what you have.
can definitely trade a complete OEM carb for a currently in use webber carb on same engine.

Unless you’re trying to do a bone stock resto, a ‘79 carb would not be my first choice. You can do a thread search to find out why. There may also be something about it on the FAQ of my website: www.marksoffroad.net.

But the ‘79 - ‘80 insulator is great for desmogged folks with early 2f air cleaner/valve cover

A bone stock resto isnt the goal.
Father just picked up a 79 which is mostly stock and original, minus the webber carb and headers.
He'd like to get it back original operating form but still wants it to be functional.
Any suggestions on route would be appreciated.

Asking for vsvs made me think it was a resto. IMO, all vsvs are circuit interrupts in circuits that don’t usually need interruptions.

We'd just like standard functionality.
To me, a restoration is a full nut-n-bolt teardown and reassembly with the intention of being 100pt presentable for a car contest. This will be driven and used regularly.
If you have recommendations to alternative fuel delivery I'm open to options.

Just a different year carb, and no middlemen between vacuum advance port on carb and vacuum advance on dizzy. That’s what the rest of the world had.😉

I’m building one for a client in CA right now.😉

Here’s a February 27th 1979 carb. PM if still needed, thanks John

If you're not planning to preserve the stock emissions system on your 79 FJ40, you might consider a non-US aftermarket carb for a desmogged 2F engine. If you're keeping all your OEM emissions, disregard.

My 79 FJ40 project had already been desmogged by the previous owner and came with an old Holley carb with issues. After reviewing lots of comments on IH8MUD about carb alternatives, I ended up buying a Fuji carb (for desmogged applications) from Cityracer that seems to work for my needs. It looks very similar to OEM. Good support too.
