NAPA does have a core charge, and unless you see them in person you may not get a Toyota axle. One of the first two I got was a rebuilt aftermarket.

CVJ should have these. I would expect them to cost more than autopart store, but less than the dealer. It seems like high quality is the only way to go on the 100 series, unless you like changing the CV's more often.

CVJ Axles - CV Axles & Steering Racks for all your needs

From their FAQ:

What or whose axles should I buy?
Here is how we categorize axles and racks.

  • Best – OEM New (Original Equipment Manufacturer) – High $$$
  • Better – CVJ Remanufactured CV Axle – Great Quality/ Good $
  • Poor – New Part Store/ Aftermarket/ Chinese – Inferior quality & fit
  • Worst – Lazy Rebuilt – Unacceptably poor
  • Make sure they are Original Manufacturer – even some dealerships sell aftermarket new.
  • We think this choice makes the most sense.
  • If price is paramount you might want to keep your OEM cores.
  • What can we say. You might be missing dust shields and other components.
