OEM 70 Series front eyelets - recovery rated?

This OEM part- is is recovery-rated strength? It looks a lot lighter than the ARB equivalent...

I believe there are a number of videos confirming that they are not adequate for recovery duties.

Gotcha, I thought that might be the case. I know that there are 'tie down' points that are really weak. But the ones in the top photo are not the tie-down loops. They're beefier than that, but not nearly as strong as the ARB/Marks ones.
 
One failure is one to many. Bad juju when a steel cable is flying around.
 
I’m sure a lot of folks simply use the ball on the rear hitch as a recovery point which is just a tad dangerous. 😊

I have the OEM hooks, left and right hand, on Purebred.

They have served me well. Once I got stuck in deep mud; a pickup truck had to pull me hard (something that required a few tries) and they held up. A 70 Series is a heavy vehicle.

As is usually the case with OEM parts, they are beefier than they look. However, they do protrude, as the picture shows.

For modified trucks, I think aftermarket front eyelets will do. A bullbar may not leave enough space/clearance for OEM ones.

On a newer Ford F-350; they have these really heavy looking loops that go to the bumper, and not to the frame. One big tug and you lose your bumper.

These loops on the front of my HZJ79 look sturdy enough for a tie down, but on our domestic work trucks we have hitch receivers bolted on front and rear, which are much stronger for towing/winching.
