What a fun and relaxing trip. I am convinced SOME of what we saw were the "Brown Mountain Lights". There was a guy there with night vision recorder and other equipment - some sort of Alien Hunter kind of dude. It was kind of surreal when a bright flash of light came from nowhere to our left. We had arrived Friday night at the viewing spot after dark, so it was hard to tell what the lay of the land was. When we got a look in daytime, and I realized there was nothing but a ~300 foot drop there, it makes me REALLY wonder where that flash came from. We saw tons of flashes in areas that should not have human activity (cliff areas and such). Way cool.

I've posted a few pics, but have only pulled down pics from my phone - will dump the camera soon and see if there are any better ones. Here's one from Wiseman's View...

Couldn't of asked for better weather for fall camping. Roseboro road had some of the best color of the weekend and Wiseman's and the lights was interesting. I am with ramon in the fact that I THINK we saw some of the lights but I don't know that everything we saw was part of the BML phenomenon. There was a interesting flicker from down below...some may have been convinced it was part of the lights but through a set of bino's it was just a campfire.

Campsite and facilities were very nice. We departed Sunday taking the parkway to blowing rock. Spent a little time downtown then heading to Woodlands BBQ before hitting 421 and heading home.

Didn't take many photos but here is one of a cool old Series II 109 we passed on Roseboro Rd.
