Just recently got back from another pilgrimage to OBX in the "now no longer mine" 98 100 series.

Another awesome trip and this year I think I've finally talked myself into buying a place out there. Could be a lengthy search since my wants are pretty specific but I'm in no hurry since it's a place I'll likely own forever.

As always, great beach wheeling, great fishing, great food and drinks, great times and mostly just getting away and checking out.

Some pics:
1. A fellow LC enthusiast surf fishing down the beach from us the 1st day.
2. Coast Guard vessel that dispatched a zodiac to board our charter boat.
3. Front door / porch view from this year's base camp.

Some more:

1. Passing the slow poke out-of-staters on the way to Ocracoke Village and the south island beaches in the "monster truck" as one of them so eloquently put it coming out of Howard's Pub.
2. A great OBX day spent like it should be.
3. Ditto...

Couple more:

1. Sunset after crossing Oregon Inlet.
2. Early morning shot en route to the gulf stream and the weapons of choice.
3. Sunrise while running to deep, blue water.

Few more:

1. First hook up of the day - less than 5 minutes after baits in the water.
2. Result. Nice blackfin. 4 pounds off the state record! :bounce:
3. Bull that was gaffed WAY too green and had to have the old heel stomp method applied for transfer to the ice box. :grinpimp:

Last few:

1. Back at the marina. Wahoo and tuna while unloading the ice box and prepping to clean.
2. Cutting up at the beach as the trip nears the end.
3. Hoping for that one last bite...

Great looking truck too... :grinpimp:

Who caught the most Andy you or Nate ???? :grinpimp:

Looks killer man, makes me miss home............

LOL, depends on who you ask as always. :grinpimp:

Pretty even all the way around this year. More fish in the group but lower total weight. 350 lbs brought to the dock this year.

Thanks. The scenery you're checking out with the FLCTT is pretty spectacular too!

Looks like a great trip!

Great looking truck too... :grinpimp:

Fun trip for sure. Another part of what makes NC so great!

Don't rub it in, I'm already having a tough enough time... :D

Next time when you're passing the slow-pokes, have your tires down to about 20psi, it makes it WAAAYYY more fun, especially if you do it over one of the narrow bridges (young and dumb = fun). And I hope you hit the whoops at the beach access to the South point of Okracoke, on the left before you get to Okracoke Village, 33mph was the sweet spot to make them smooth and fun for the 80.

OBX my way, 4/18/07

I left my cruiser at the Swan Quarter ferry and biked around the OBX with some friends.

The first picture picture I shot coming off the Hateras ferry into Ocracoke about the same time Andy was there. While we didn't pass anybody, we did draft the construction pace car for a few miles.

The second photo is my gang coming into Cape Hateras light.
