Obtaining 6.5" factory wheels?

Is it possible or should I just forget trying? The other option was 6.5", right? Anyone know if the offset was less than the 8" alloys?

Even if the offset was the same, the narrower rim would push the tire out a bit. I hope I'll find if these rims are available arround here (that is: Europe - but you can still ship them to U.S. ).
The other option are 6.5Jx16 rims for LC105 and LC78/79, but they push the tires out for about 2.5" and the tire will hit the fender when articulating...

I figured those two would have 6 lugs. Very similar to 80 running gear from what I understand.

Wait a minute, I'm second guessing myself. If the offset is equal then rim width WOULD keep the outside edge of the tire further inward!

Only the latest seventies (78 and 79) and 105 use 5 studs (beside a 100 of course).

Totally would! I love those XZLs (about the only Michelin product I do like). If I'm gonna lift and gear for 36"+ tires, might as well go for the 11R16s and just keep the alloys

I dunno I would really love a 78 series Troopie. Maybe if all the Toyota owners tell the gov to screw themselves on their stupid air bags etc and tell them we demand what other countries get (Stop trying to play parent by 'protecting us from ourselves' !), maybe then we can get a fair shake.
