Just returned from an upstate trip to check on trepassers cutting timber off my land without permission, and thought I'd share some general observations:

* MPG @ 65 mph (avg) (outbound) averaged 14.8
* MPG @ 80 mph (avg) (return) was 16.2
(note: this was a 340 mile 1-way trip)

* the whisting sunroof has suddenly stopped.
* buch better Oil pressure this trip....running GTX 20-50 Dino....
* appeared to run 'two needle widths' cooler on the return trip..
* broke previous speed record in the LX
* Valentine One saved me $$

And finally....even mall cruisers go off-raod in the clay hills occasionally!

Oh yeah....another example of why it pays to get the thing dirty once in a while......found the old family cemetary I'd been looking for....spent some good time with the relatives.....:-)

oooohh,

Masons.....:D

Oh, anbody hurt in that wreck you drive? :D

Safe to assume that outbound was more uphill and return trip was mostly downhill? If not, I get to explain the "Officer Friendly" that I was speeding to get better gas mileage. :D

That's right....it's a 'wreck' AFTER the parts are shipped, huh? :D

Well.....maybe a little, but not much. Seems like the 'up/down' hills on the interstate are about the same. I'd set the cruise on 78, which is still within the 'won't bother you' range down here most of the time. Plus, you are exactly right: my main concern was ecological!

That is still a road. Heck I'd almost call that a superhighway compared to some of the dirt roads around here. If it ever gets graded it is a road. If it is never graded it is a trail.

Wind? Did you have a tailwind or a headwind either way? That can make a huge difference. I was cussing when I filled up the other day. We only got 13.5 mpgs in the 94. It is usually around 15-16 mpg. My wife pipes up and says, "Duh! you were driving 80 mph into a headwind!" Our best mileage was 18.6 mpg and I know we had a little help from mother nature with both some downhill and some wind.

it's MANIK.....and as for the 'godsend', I think you've got just a little bit of an inflated ego.... :D

anyway, TeeBag, they're made by Manik. Ask Eric (above) about them...the were his at one time..:-)

Yeah , I know....I intended a little more sarcasm with my 'off-road' comment....but it was REAL DUSTY..does that count?

Kit,
Yes, that counts. Now you get to check and empty your tuna can just like if you were running with the big dogs. :D

Can't do it, B-Man.........I disabled it's function long ago when I filled it with those air fresheners to mask the exhaust smell...

.....you're just BEGGIN' for those mall articulation pictures I've been compiling.....
