OBD2 port on '02 Landcruiser 4.2 D
Hi,
Am new here and had a questions.
I just got myself a 2002 LC Pickup HZJ79. Took it for its first 3500km trip during the holidays. I have been searching for the OBD2 port on that truck and cant find it. Since it became compulsary for cars build after 1996 it should have one. Can anyone tell me where it is if possible with a picture? Can't find it under the stearing wheel column.
Thanks, H.

My FZJ71 has a port on the driver's side (LHD), above the accelerator pedal, but it's not OBD2 (I can't remember the code right now), from what I read it's only mandatory in US bound LCs, Jap spec ones don't come with OBD2. Mine is an 08.

It sucks coz I need to know how high my engine is revving at 120 and 140kph in 5th. Want to possibly do some power improvements but wont if its already revving high. would have to swap gears first then.

ahh i see why it sucks , you must have a crapy no tacho dash
all Aus spec cruisers come with the tacho as std

If you know the 5th gear ratio, transfer ratio, diff ratio, and tyre circumference, you can calculate what the revs will be at those speeds.

I am considering a diff swap at the moment, and use a spreadsheet to show various speeds, engine revs, etc., amongst various different combinations of gear/transfer/diff ratios/tyre sizes, to see how they compare to standard revs/speed, and to see which combination will get me back closest to standard, and to see how the crawler transfer gears will affect low range compared to standard.

Can u make that spreadsheet available? Would love to see if i can manually calculate that. Have actually started shopping for the turbo and intercooler conversion but I think I should pay attention to that. Reliability is the reason why I got that car so I dont want to sacrifice on that.

If you PM your email address to me, I'll send it to you.

It is an excel spreadsheet that I found online and modified for my own needs, so not sure if it will give you exactly what you want or not.
