I am going to try to represent this truck as accurately as possible. I am not trying to hide anything and I am happy to take specific pictures if anyone wants them. It is a strong running truck that has been very reliable for me, but it does have some rust issues. It is better than many I have seen around here. These trucks are getting out of reach for a regular person, so when you find one that’s affordable, its going to have some rust. My price is $4500.00 cash. No more no less. If it makes you feel better, I can start at $6k and then we can agree on $4500. I feel that is a fair price for this truck, I certainly wont be making any money on it, but that’s how old cars go.

Here’s the story I got on this truck. A little long winded but I like passing on the story of old cars.
It was purchased new in 1986 in California by actress Frances McDormand. She would have owned it during filming of the movie Fargo. I don’t have any way to confirm that, but that’s the story I got and the Carfax report tends to support it.
The truck lived in California until about 1998, when it came to NYC. It lived in NYC until 2006, when it moved to Michigan. In 2014, it moved back to Long Island and was sold to my wife’s cousin. He never did much with it and it sat in his driveway for a couple years. We both got tired of seeing it sit, so I bought it from him and freshened it up. I believe that makes me the 5th owner.
My original plan was a 5.3/4L60 swap, but work and home life aren’t going to let that happen right now. I have a small driveway and 5 vehicles so I am selling a couple to make space for one 4 door truck that can serve the purpose of both the FJ60 and my 2 door pickup.

The Good:
I’ve used this truck for around town, and taken it on a couple 1-hr trips. It always starts right up and has never left me stranded. It gets a lot of compliments, I have put about 4k miles on it in a year and a half. Most everything that I removed from the truck, I kept and will go to the new owner.

Here is the list of parts I replaced last winter at 187,400 miles:
De-Smogged (never re-curved dizzy)
All Fluids drained & refilled to proper levels. (Front & rear diff, crankcase, radiator, trans, transfer case.)
New Exhaust from down pipe pack. ( Cat Deleted)
Used CL set of BFG 33x10.50 on stock wheels. – 5 extra Stock wheels and tires included 235/85 R15
New Battery
New Starter
New Alternator
New Fan Belts
New Brake Master Cylinder
New Clutch Master Cylinder
New Rear Brakes – shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, hoses, rear wheel seals
HFS 1.25” Lift shackles in rear
New Front Brakes – new calipers, pads, rotors, brake hoses
Knuckles rebuilt, wheel bearings, wheel seals
Locking Hubs cleaned & repainted
Side mirrors changed to 62 style (Kept originals)
All new lug nuts
New repop front grille, headlight doors, new silverstar headlight bulbs
New Alpine head unit with SiriusXM receiver, new front & rear door speakers, all fresh wiring
New manual extending radio antenna
New front smittybilt seats (originals included with truck)
Rear Windows Tinted (By yours truly not a professional job but its passable)
I have a bunch of parts that i bought and never installed that will go with it.

The Bad:
Rust. The roof is starting to show signs of rust, it could be saved at this point. Bottoms of a couple doors are just starting to show rust. I cut out and welded new lower quarter panels (behind the mudlfaps). I never had a chance to smooth them out with bondo, but at least you can see that it is all steel that was welded in. No bondo over rust.
Most of the truck has been repainted at some point, but I don’t know when or where.
Hood is in primer.
Carpet is a little hairy, that was next on my list.
Stumbles a bit at idle. I believe there is a small crack in the manifold under the carb. I have a block off plate that will go with the truck. As soon as it gets above idle it runs great.
A/C belt is unhooked and i never cared to try to fix it. It doesn't bother me not having it. Looks to be all there though.
My dog jumped in one day and ripped off the drivers side snake blinder. I have it and may even have some new clips to put it back on.
It’s a decent looking truck that you can drive while you fix it up. We northeast people must have deep pockets, or learn to deal with a little rust.
@Kcyancey @NYIronPig @fj302 @ohchaucer Are the ones who have already expressed interest in that order. Call for it in the thread to be fair to everyone. Thanks everyone. Nick K. in East Hampton, NY 11937
