I removed the running boards today from my LX450. Looks a lot better, but I wonder how to trim out the bottom of the front flare, so it looks good. Lets hear any tips you have.....
 
Get a Toyota LC (93 - 97) front flare. Trim it or leave it alone. Install -- you're done.

Or...do as I did and remove the flares and body panels...bedliner the sides and flare area -- you're done.
 
I recently got the LC mud flaps from CDan and did same, looks good except they are not color matched like the rears, also tried taking off the rubber trim on the bottom of the rear door, made the rear flare look unfinished so I put it back. removign the running boards really makes the LX look much better IMO and clears the way for better things in the future.

Lots of pics of my '96 LX with F and R Land Cruiser mudflaps. The rears are necessary when installing a Slee rear bumper due to the different body trim contour on the LX.
