Hey guys i posted a question in some other guys thread about whether there really is an adapter made that will allow us LC owners to double up the np203 (minus the chain driven portion) to a stock lc tcase and h42 tranny.

AA says there adapter only alows a sm420 to work with this combo.

Anyone know of a vendor that makes this sort of adaptor or does the AA guy just not know what he's talking that (doubt that).

I'm pretty sure there is an adapter to the LC tranny..

Or Call marlin and get one of the toyboxes..

I don't have that kind of dough right now to throw at a toybox...

Already have a good np203 and it's much cheaper this way. AA guy says i'd have to use a chevy tranny, but maybe i just don't understand how a doubler works, i thought the second tcase just mounts up to the stock tcase via adapter, what difference does it make what tranny is hooked up to it?

A lot, that is why you do not read about people installing a 203 box behind a H41/2 transmission.

For starters, the output shaft of the Toyota transmissions are not designed the same as the 420/465; the output shaft of the Toyota transmission passes through the transfer case, opposed to the output shaft of the 420/465 being very short and using a coupler either through a factory adapter, or, an internally splined input shaft in the transfer case to provide power to the transfer case.

Not every upgrade you want to put into your truck is going to happen for what you think it is worth.

What are you going to do with your fuel tank when you start stacking reduction gear boxes?

Here is an option <---- this is a link

Right after you secure yourself a 19 spline split case transmission and transfer case assembly, build yourself a cross member to support the extra length of drive train, remove the factory tube cross member, cut the floor and remove your factory gas tank to provide room.

Sounds easy, and cheap....

There is only one combo for the 203 doubler I am aware of. The 203 has to go on the back of a GM auto tranny. The 203 was bolted up to either the 350 or 400 autos (not sure which) in the GM rigs. The 700R4 can have the output shaft changed out to a shorter shaft and then bolted to the 203. The 203 then is adapted to the 4 speed TC. This makes for a very long driveline and a very short driveshaft.

It was also installed behind 465's....
