Here is a map in case you never have been. They are located behind the Bloom: Get directions to Convenience Car Care

When: Saturday, November 21st, 2009. 9am till 5:00pm

Cost: $20 per person including lunch. Pre-registration required (see below). You must be a member of CLCC if you want to participate in this event. If you have not yet paid your membership, the cost will be $32.50/57.50 for the event ($20 + $12.50 membership for the remainder of the year or $37.50 if you want to pay for next years membership upfront).

Please pay by credit card, Paypal, or personal check. To pay by Paypal or credit card, go to www.paypal.com and click the SEND MONEY link on the HOME tab. The club email is treasurer@clcc.org Please let us know when you have paid, especially as we get closer to the event. If you need to pay with personal checks please PM me or email for address to send. NO REFUNDS will be issued for no shows.

This is our second DIY/Tech day at Convenience who is hosting this event in their beautiful full service garage in Manassas with a dozen or so lifts. Convenience will provide 1 to 2 mechanics to demonstrate tune up procedures they typically perform on vehicles. Then members will be free to put their trucks on lifts and perform tune ups under the guidance of the Convenience staff. If members want to also perform fluid changes, this might be a good chance to do so.

Lifts will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis on the day of the event, giving priority to those who sign up first. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Other projects may be done but ONLY with pre-approval. Please PM or email me with your project for review and discussion. You should have done your research as to what you are getting done, what the proceedures are, what special tools and parts you will need. Though others may be able to lend a hand once in a while, you should be ready to do the entire job on your own.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO BRING THEIR OWN TOOLS. If you need a specialty tool or forget a tool, the mechanics can provide those, but it is at their discretion since it is there personal tools. IF YOU REQUIRE CLUB Tools, Please let us know.

Some members expressed interest in meeting up for breakfast before the tech day. I may adjust the start time accordingly. If many people want to do the breakfast, then we will not provide donuts in the AM like we did last time. Convenience always has a cup of java going.

Count me in for both b-fast and the Tech Day. I'll PM you with my plans.

Tom's diner , north of Convience on 28 before McDonalds

Wanted to confirm the time with everyone. I had 8:30 on the original post. Some people have expressed interest in meeting prior for breakfast. That would mean meeting around 7:30.

I think I will move the start time of the tech day to 9am. Meet for breakfast at Tom's dinner at 8am. That will give a little more time to for people to get there. I will change in the original post.

Thanks.

I have a dilemma that I am hoping a club member who is attending this session can help me out with. I paid second-day freight for a set of brass drifts through Amazon.com, but UPS routed them the wrong way and I will not have them until next week . I need them for removal and installation of bearing races etc. during my knuckle rebuild tomorrow. Does anyone have a brass drift I can use tomorrow?

Best,

Bart

Mine was stolen. anyone else can bring one? otherwise, i am sure they will have some there.

(Breakfast: meet at Tom's Diner near Convenience at 8:00AM: Tom's Diner - Manassas, VA )
