would taking the air injectors out cause it to start, well.... not starting. i was working on the truck the entire week, i took the valve cover off, the smog stuff minus the EGR, (to come later) air cleaner up to the throttle body, and the distributor was pulled completely out, and now its not starting. after everything was reinstalled.
 
More info. Describe not start. Won't turn over? Turns over but doesn't catch? Fires a bit, but won't keep running? Do you know you are getting spark? Fuel? Could the dizzy have been reinstalled off from the correct position? All the electrical connections have been checked to make sure they are plugged back in? All vacuum lines have been reconnected (capped if removed)?

ha, not yet, might just have the dealer do it, cause i dont want to deal with taking the throttle body off... too much. but also, is it off cause i didnt put the teeth back in the way they came out, readjust?

Start over with the timing.....rockdoc probably has a photo out of the FSM to help you out. I wish you could get that thing to me I could fix you right up....you could even hang out...not much to do but ya get your rig fixed. I have the a thing I fixed up to get rid of the EGR, plugs for the air rail, plugs for the exhaust manifold.



Atually if you are demogging that thing once that is done its a brezze to get that intake off. I can pull one swap out injecters within a hour.
 
I warn you the dealer will rape you.... I had to TEACH the dealer how to do a run a fuel pressure test and how to extract codes. HELL the did not even have a fsm. AND THE BASTARDS STILL CHARGED ME:mad:
 
i got everything off of it except the EGR and air injectors plugged with the factory plugs (thanks Dan)
is it the teeth of the dizzy that are making it do this?
 
Sorry, I'm at school tonight. If you still need, I can get you the timing stuff out of the FSM when i head home, or tomorrow.

That's my guess. But re-check the wiring to the AFM and TPS if you haven't, and double check to make sure you have the plug wires hooked up correct.
 
rockdoc, think i might be able to get those pages from you tomorrow morning sometime. i have to have this thing running by monday, or it goes to the dealer
 
I'll see what's in the book when I get home. Not likely to be up in the "morning", especially for you easterners.

Right now I am wrestling trying to get my silicone moulds out of the head casting. If anybody was watching, they'd figure I was finger-*$&*ing the thing.

thanks doc, much appreciated. i cant work on it today though, raining. and its conveniently not in the garage, at the end of an inclined driveway. maybe tuesday, or the next day it doesn't rain. i think that this is the issue. if not... hello dealership :frown:
