~235k miles

My wife drove the truck to work this morning, it was about 25F outside.
She said the truck was "Strange" backing out of the garage, and then it drove fine (~7 miles) to work, but then when she went to park and she said it was like she was losing power, like the gas pedal was not connected. The engine stayed running the entire time.

I have never replaced the fuel pump. I have replaced a few coil packs over the years. I replaced the fuel filter 25k ago.

I have never cleaned the MAF, shame on me. I have not thought of it until I did a little searching.

I am going to head over to the wife's work at lunch and scan w/ TechStream and see what I can find. I will pick up some MAF cleaner on the way.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Also, I have noticed the idle has been a little unsteady when I first start the LX and sit in the driveway for a minute.
I was going to recommend taking a look at throttle sensors but this makes me think you're looking at something else. Maybe a coil as you suggested or the MAF. Be very careful cleaning the MAF and be sure to check the label as there are some that are specifically not compatible with 90s-00s Toyotas.

Hopefully TS gives you some extra insight.

Great suggestions. Sounds like my situation when this plug lock in this picture snapped off. Problems went away after replacing the plug. It was a simple fix and didn't require any wire splicing. I just inserted the old wires into a new plug that would lock into place.

Update time!

Another way to put things might have been, "When I go to make a tight turn, I feel a lot of resistance."
"Like when the CDL is on?"
"I don't know what that means..."

I went over there to ass-ess the situation. Sure enough, I felt resistance, like if the parking brake was left on.
The CDL switch was depressed. So I switched it off and backed the truck up (LOL) to unlock. Now all is well.

My wife asked me how the CDL switch got pressed... Have I mentioned how I only get to drive the LX when it needs fuel?
