Using a Macbook Pro and Safari. The first thread I visit in a forum will show as read when I go back to the previous page. All other threads I visit in that forum afterward will not. Going to a different forum repeats the process - only the first visited thread always shows as read. Closing the window and reopening MUD solves it. Refreshing the page does not.

It seems that going back isn't refreshing the page like normal. Even the time of posting, i.e. "8 minutes ago" won't refresh unless I close the window and reopen MUD.

Been happening for about 4-5 days now. I haven't knowingly made any changes to my computer. Is this an issue for anyone else?

Thanks,
John

Also, if I type "@username" I'll get a list of possibles after the first few letters but clicking on one won't select it. It just closes the options and leaves me where I was, making me have to type out the entire username. Not a big issue, but not right, either. Sometimes clicking on the avatar next to the username after the 2nd time will select it. Writing a list of "@usernames" has it working fine after the first one has been clicked through.

@JohnVee - it's working fine for me...sounds like you've got an oddity with your browser...perhaps clearing the cache/cookies/etc will help. I do it every week-two. Also be sure your browser is up-to-date, I confirm that every time I clear the cache (and today, my Chrome browser on my Mac had an update)

So... I just got a brand new macbook pro. Set it up as new, i.e..I merged nothing over from the old machine or iCloud. Still having the same problem of threads not showing read unless I manually refresh the screen or close/reopen Safari. This is the only site I've experienced this problem since it originally started in January 2015.

I did a factory reset on my router (2008 Airport Extreme) last night and set new username and password on it. This should have wiped out any previous settings as per apple FAQ.

I don't usually take my laptop on the road so I'm unsure if the problem would persist on other networks. I guess I'll have to try that and report back.

If you use the "back" button on your browser, then the results you see are expected...navigate instead, clicking a new link in the forum to refresh...the logo (upper left) will take you to the forum home page, and should mark threads read as you expect.

@woody I'm sorry, but you're telling me to click the main logo after each thread I read? Then navigate back to where I was? That's not gonna waste time... Anyway, it probably wouldn't matter...I can visit a clubhouse and read the new posts in 10 threads, then visit another clubhouse or other section (doing the same), then go back to the first and only see that the very first thread I read shows that I've read it, until I manually refresh from Safari's navigation bar (or shut down Safari and reopen). It'll be exactly the same even if I go to other websites in-between. Using the back button always worked for me for 4 years on the same computer, why wouldn't it now? I have my preferences (on MUD) set to stay logged in.

I'll download Chrome tomorrow and see if that's any different on this new computer; it wasn't on the old one - same behavior.

I'm really just amazed that I'm the only one with this problem when I've changed nothing prior to the problem and it still exists on a completely new, unused computer.

The @username issue is better now. It will function when I click a name from the drop down box 7 out of 10 times. When it doesn't, I have to backspace one letter then type 2 more to get the dropdown box back.

I don't know that I even really care anymore. If I'm the only one with this issue then it has to be something on my end. F*cking computers. It's just odd that it only happens on MUD.

FYI I just got on the iPad after writing the above. Went to Upstate's page. Read a couple posts and commented on one. Nav'd to Getting to Beno and read it. Nav'd back to Upstate. Still shows that I haven't visited or posted. AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MACHINE!!! Might it have something to do with being logged in, but closed, on multiple devices? Again, I did that for years and never had an issue until Jan 2015.
