not Araco anymore?

Here's what the sticker looks like. Mine is on the front passenger side door only. All my doors are original.

How does one know if the PO removed the sticker? :) Surely, there must be a list or something that tells what month/year of vehicle was made under Araco ownership.

on my old lx the araco stickers would rip if you try to peel them similar to the licens tags taht are out there not really sure how to verify but i know that any reputable shop would not fake any stickers and i do remeber the stickers where every where on my old one similar to the photo above oh also i forgot to mention I did not have any problems with the nav or electronics like the other models that actually have a virus from cell phone use etc. the dealerships would not even bother re flashing them and just swap out the whole unit which was easier and cheaper for them the mark up on them is crazy

I found the sticker on my '03. It's in the rear of the underside of the hood on the passenger side.

I knew I had seen it somewhere, just couldn't remember! (Right hand side)

I could be wrong (and I probably am since I did not catch it the first time), but "Araco" changed to Toyota Auto Body.

And AFAIK there is only one location/factory that manufactures the LC100/70 and it has been that way for some time (I think).

The Prado/GX470/4Runner are manufactured at a different plant (Tahara) but the 100/70 have been manufactured at the Yoshiwara plant where I had recently visited.

x2 :)

Maybe the chassis were originally manufactured at "Toyota" (not Araco/Toyota Auto Body now) and got moved/transferred to the subsidiary Toyota Auto Body (formerly known as Araco). Just a thought...

Data point: our '04 has Araco stickers all OVER it! :flipoff2:

Well F- me! I must have been thinking of our two previous 80 Series. The only place the 100 has the sticker is under the hood, passenger side, back near the hinge point, just like you guys. OK, so it's not "all over" the truck, but at least it's on there somewhere!

From the factory pics I posted on the other thread, it seems the chassis are made elsewhere, then shipped to the Toyota auto body factory where the body is made and everything assembled.

My 03 LX also has the Araco sticker on the inside passenger side hood, manufacture date was 11/02.

How about if those of us with Araco stickers, especially those of us w/ 04's and '05's, post if we have the Araco sticker and the date of manufacture (on the driver's door jamb sticker)? This will allow us to get a statistical feel for when Araco ownership changed.

I only have the Araco sticker under the hood passenger side towards the cowl. None on the doors or jams. All doors are originals and never in a accident, all vin tags in place. Mine is a Black 2004 LX. Hope that helps.

Mine built 04/04.
