just found your blog!

wow.... I am soooooooooooooooo jealous!!!

My Mom was living in Waldport OR which is just north of the Seal Caves! She so want's to go back.

She totally understands your fear of the bridge over the Columbia. She says "try driving it in a big rig (she drives 53' semi) being blown around by the wind. She said rigs have been blown off bridges over the Columbia on 84 and never seen again.
*shiver*

Anyway.... have enough fun for all of us that are living vicariously through you!!!

And the Alaska Trek on top of it all........ man.......

(I only wish you had links to bigger versions of the pics in your blog :crybaby: )

I assume you're planning to spend the night in Fairbanks sometime?

If you want a really nice campground I highly reccomend the campground on University Road right where it crosses the Chena River. Easy to find, close to everything (go to the museum at the University), really nice place. Not sure about showers though.

If you have the time make the hour drive out to Chena Hot Springs. Check out the Ice Hotel (yes, it's year-round!) and the hot springs are really nice.

Good tip - we have found our way at that campground by intuition - it also has WIFI - we will be making our way towards those hot spring too - heading up the Dalton tomorrow morning - Yep - blogs coming by then

thanks for the heads up Advent

Sorry for that D-vision -I could not see it on my end... We hope to publish all the photos in large format when time permits - I did leave the video camera at home - I felt I could actually capture more with stills and can create a fine movie with stills. This way I could concentrate on driving more than I usually do :D :D

Thanks for checking in

Do you have any favorite spots to camp around Tok ?

Nope...I generally make it a point to drive straight through...Tok's not high on my priorities list. You can make Whitehorse from either Fairbanks or Anchorage in one day pretty easily.

Edit: A fun side trip to make on the way back might be to drive to Haines and take the hour ferry ride over to Skagway. The fast ferry service is supposed to be running again as of today, so it could be an even shorter ride.
