A couple years ago I purchased a 1991 FJ80 from Ih8mud member GrimmJow, and while I would love to get her back on the road, I do not have the time to do so. I had originally sold the FJ80 to a serviceman from Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville, NC. He drove it home, and while doing so plugged in an inverter that somehow made his shift lock stick and eventually created a "no start" condition (plugs, wires, distributor, ignition coil replaced, did not touch igniter though). I took the FJ80 back a couple weeks later and returned his money in full. He served tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, has a family to look after, and his mechanic was not too familiar with the FJ80. I did the right thing here. You can have his contact info as well to verify my story if you want the cruiser. It ran well when he got it, it sounds good when turning over, but needs an FJ80 fan to finish the job. The original ad is archived on this website but I'll list the basics here:

Window motors are slow and pretty much shot all around. Drivers side door lock tumbler is broken. The interior is still in great shape (driver seat does have tear where you slide in) and has the rear jump seats too. The FJ80 sits under a large barn next to my tractor, so it is kept out of the weather during this time. She has about 280K miles on her and the body is in excellent shape ( no rust) for those wanting a build out. I'm gonna put what I think is a fair price for her, and pull her to the end of my property that fronts the highway. This is the first place I'm posting an ad, because this is where I found her. Nothing to hide, I'm an open book on anything and everything regarding the cruiser during my ownership.
