NORFORCE 47 Resto

Hey guys I thought I'd keep you updated with my resto of my Norforce Troopy. Its going to be a fairly budget resto (mainly elbow grease required), but I've got a pretty good base to work from. My main issues come from all the red dirt! I can't believe some of the places it has built up.

It's going to take a bit to get her completely sweet, as I only have a couple of hours every weekend to work on it.

The pic I have attached is it as I found it in a farmers shed. I was absolutely stoked, as I've been looking for one of these for a while.

i'm not trying to be funny here but, what does "northforce" mean? is it a military thing? i see behind the cab on the side of the bed there is a vented compartment, what is that thing? please educate a dumb yankee.

Assuming it's like mine from the same batch of troopies, that is a storage compartment. Having said that, though, these trucks were outfitted for different Army purposes so Thorx7's may be for something different, because neither of my two storage compartments are vented.

Would all of these, "Norforce" rigs have soft tops, or would some have hardtops as well?

I believe that they were all soft tops. From the information I have gathered, and based on my own rig, it seems as though they were delivered with OEM bows and supporting items (footman loops, etc.) but probably without canvas, as I have not seen a single image of the trucks with an OEM canvas top.

The modifications made to the rigs included roll bars or full cages, long range tanks, roo bars up front, and changes to the rear bumper, which added jerry can holders in the place where the rear tail lights were originally mounted. There was an additional body piece added (technically two pieces, I guess, one on either side) to the lip of the rear tub that was about six inches tall and went all the way around the truck at the top of the tub. The bows were modified slightly by cutting them down and they were mounted into this piece. This is also where the rear lights were then relocated to.

Looks good, not much to mask up when you paint them,just paint everthing and clean the glass. What brand of paint di you use?. I an not to far of getting in to start fixing mine.I am still looking for hood bows yet.

yeah the wind screen was badly cracked so i didn't

bother masking it up as i had a new one on order.
