Just joined. Planning on buying a Lexus LX 570. Thinking of a 2015 to get the best bells and whistles without tracker. Planning on having the engine built by XAT in the 6.8 liter all forged bottom end with a Magnuson 2650 supercharger. Aiming for 1000hp. Hopefully the drive train will handle it. If anyone has comments, let 'em fly. Crazy old car dude looking for a daily driver that will pin you to the seat. If anyone knows of suspension mods to make it handle please chime in.

Sounds ambitious, but I like it.

It's a 6000lb, top-heavy, brick-shaped SUV. You can make it go fast(er), but "handle" is going to be a relative term here...

You might want to look into the the Land Speed Cruiser

I think your best bet for suspension mods will be to just leave it in "sport" mode. You can also lower it a bit via AHC sensors and the height offset utility in Techstream. And some good tires for the job--don't even know what truck sized tires are made for touring/handling, but I'm sure they're out there. There are oversized aftermarket swaybars out there, but they may not make as much of a difference as you're expecting on an AHC-equipped vehicle.

Looking forward to the build

With respect to engine mods, a Calgary local toyota wizard, Victor G, has pushed the 3urfe in his tundra to the limits. Check out "Project Thundra" on Tundras dot com. His build and testing of the engine identify a number of insights that will be valuable in your engine build. Very inspiring, but with more power, expect more problems. You'll want to upgrade Ferrea (or better) valves/springs if you want to increase to a 6.8 l bore.

I'll be following with keen interest to see how your build shapes up!

Fair. But here's the deal. In the late '70s My '71 Mercury Cougar was doing 10s in a quarter that was my daily driver. I've also bought a new 2k3 Mitsubishi Evolution 8 tweaked it up to 525 awhp, so I know vehicles different capabilities, but I'm talking 2" lowering springs, antiroll bars, tower and rear braces, you know, the stuff that made my 2011 Scion XB go from driving a school bus to an absolute corner hugging beast using the TRD suspension.

I take it you didn't check out the XAT site. They have options to build and absolute monster.

I've started my search for a 2015 with black interior. Don't care about the outside color as I will wrap it. Also don't care about milage as I'm rebuilding the entire drivetrain. If y'all know of any, please let me know. Thank you for the followes, it should be fun.

They definitely have some big claims. I will be keen to follow your results :)

My plan is to have a local shop pull and send parts to major rebuilders and have the locals rebuild the other driveline parts then put it all together. If they are capable to do the suspension, more better yet. Should be a fun daily driver that will Scat Pack owners doubt their purchase.

I really like the Satin Cashmere Metallic, but none on market. Is that because no one wants to release one or is it because they are so attractive that other colors want to mate with it, HARD.
