Hi there!
I'm a Noob to MUD, noob to the 100 Series and noob to TX (actually noob to the US)...
Have lot's of experience with the 80 and 70 Series both hard wheeling and expedition style traveling. Looking forward to exploring my surroundings whenever work allows.
Just got myself a 2003 100 Series LC. 88k miles, one owner, nicely kept. White (I hear the white ones got the best flex). She is bone stock at the moment but looking forward to building her up as a "proper family hauler".
Still reading around through the board in order to learn more about do's and dont's, but she'll surely get a 2.5" Lift. Debating between 275/70R18 and 295/70R18 tires. It is my DD so don't know if going with the 295 is worth it... Any suggestions and pics from your rigs with these two tire measurements are welcome!
Front ARB Sahara Bar (without the chrome bar), double battery and some kind of sliders and drawer system (suggestions welcome) will do for now.
A rear bumper is in the future, not just now.
I have a Ramsey Patriot 15.000 Winch , ARB fridge and ExtremeAire compressor that have served me well on previous rigs.
Hopefully will meet some of you fine folk on a trail or campground.

Welcome both to Mud and America! Sounds like you got yourself a very nice LC with very low miles for the year. In addition, you have a sound game plan of future upgrades.

Please do upload pictures when convenient as it will provide a cool timeline as you upgrade the LC.

Both the 275/70R18 & the 285/65R18 seem to be generally agreed upon to fit without rubbing (w/ or w/o a lift) and fit into the factory spare location. One advantage of the 275/70R18 is that it seems to be a popular OEM size for pickup trucks, so it is easy to find in stock and tends to cost a bit less than something like the 285/65R18.

A 295/70R18 may be pushing the limits a bit, and may require some additional modifications (beyond just "add a lift") to avoid rubbing, and may or may not fit in the factory spare location.

Welcome to the US, Mud, the 100 series & TX.

Pictures or it didn't happen :flipoff2:

Welcome on all fronts, you picked one of the last free states to move to.

So, no "edit" button to correct my double-post? Probably it's me not seeing it...
