From a build thread I had noticed that someone had, to my understanding, a non-US "internal cut" key set that they needed with the immobilizer. Then I had the spring in my door handle break which got me thinking about it again recently.

In looking at pics online I took the plunge and ordered a 69005-6A260 from PartSouq. In hand the door tumblers looked the same, so this afternoon I dove in and replaced the doors, ignition and rear hatch. Sadly it does not come with the glove compartment lock, but I did get a spare locking lug in exchange.

Took a little over an hour, and now I have 3 keys and an emergency key.

By "internal cut" do you mean the outer edges are smooth?

I got the lock cylinder set 69005-60290. It came with lock cylinders for the ignition, both doors, rear hatch, and glovebox. Really made it feel like a new vehicle.

Edit: also, my key just says TOYOTA on it, not LAND CRUISER.

Yes, like this one.

I know the US version was available, but these seemed "cooler". :meh:

Disregard holy hell, Lexus wants way more than an arm and a leg. lol

L front lock cylinder $353
R front lock cylinder $332
L rear cylinder $157
R rear cylinder $161
Glovebox $385
Rear hatch $407

Haha when losing your key totals your car.

Lexus lock cylinder and key set p/n 690056A280 is $632.21 from Amayama Japan! $456.23 from Partsouq.

@IoN6's 69005-6A260 is $343.91 from Amayama UAE and $338.19 from Partsouq.

The set I got, 69005-60290, is a mere $293.86 from Amayama Japan.

Just thought I'd post these for reference, since I was curious.

You can just buy a set from someone parting out....

Yes, I know it was not the cheapest route. Did it just because I liked the different key type. Figured I would post it in case anyone else wanted to know.

I have a lx I'm parting out.. I was thinking of this as an added security bonus but most people just punch the cylinder out and start with a screwdriver anyways.

Yeah, going through this process it was pretty clear how little security there is.

Yep, locks only keep honest people honest. I remember when I had my truck towed to a shop. I was following him up to the shop about an hour away. We got separated and I ended up behind traffic. I had the truck keys with me, but the flat bed driver didn't wait the 10 min for me to get there. He jimmy'd the lock, poped the cover for the shifter lock out, rolled the truck off the flat bed and was gone before I got there.

Yeah, going through this process it was pretty clear how little security there is.

Is ordering the set the only way to ensure your cylinders are keyed alike because from what I’ve seen, the math seems off versus ordering the individual cylinders.
Around 75 for ingnition
35 or so per door
Unsure about rear hatch and glove box.
I fully admit I may have been looking at a part for a different Toyota.
