I can't seem to find anybody that has Swampers for sale. I heard a rumor here that one of their suppliers went bankrupt and that is the reason.
I was thinking to replace my current bias ply TSL's with the same tire so I haven't really been shopping brands. I took the head of the finance committee to Bronco Canyon a couple of weeks ago. During the trip she told me I'd better get new tires before I do Rubicon in a couple of weeks.
What is a good alternative to the TSL's?
My current tire is 36"(now worn down to 33") 12.5 X15. They have been working well for the trails I do (Rubicon, Fordyce, Dusey. etc.) although they are a handful on the highway. (I could probably afford a different set of wheels if the tires aren't to high priced.)
I'm running FJ40 axles with mini truck knuckles and Longfield birf's and inners, 4.11 diffs with ARB lockers, 4:1 t-case and 2.5:1 Toy Box. From what I've read I could probably go to a 37" or 38" tires with this set-up before I start breaking parts. (I'm pretty conservative with the right hand peddle.)
I'd be willing to sacrifice some trail performance for an improvement in highway performance, but this is mostly a trail rig.
