Hi All,
I bought a 1995 4Runner last year with the 3.0 V-6. It ran fine when I bought it. Parked it for a couple months then went to start it and nothing....

It has battery power (headlights on) ignition buzzer, dash lights, but when you turn the key there is nothing. No click, no turning over etc... I've looked at fuses, fusible links, and the like and nothing seems wrong.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Stosh

Sticking solenoid on top of the starter. If you can give it a few firm taps with a hammer or piece of wood it may unstick it.

I will try the solenoid taping trick, but it doesn't even sound like it's trying to engage.

Neutral safety switch is a possibility I didn't consider. Thanks guys.

If auto. Put in park or nuteral and place foot on brake.
If manual try the clutch cancel switch

If you have a multi meter check to see how many volts the batter has. Anything less than 11.5 or so won't let you start it. Just because the dash lights and such come on doesn't rule the battery out. It could only have 6 volts and still turn all that stuff on. If you don't have a meter just try jumping it. It won't hurt anything if it's a good battery. If it's good, then like the others said, tap the starter. Sometimes for that you work you need two people. One turning the key as the other taps away.
