I searched for info on desmogging and vacuum. I didn't get what I was looking for. Here's my situation:
stock 78 FJ 40, smog pump gone for p/s pump. When I step on the brakes, the engine stumbles due to a lack of vacuum (94 p/u booster-stops on a dime). Is this caused by the lack of a smog pump? I will check for other vacuum leaks, too. Just wondering if the missing pump is THE cause, or just part of the problem.
The only smog part missing is the pump, everything else is there.
