no second gear a440

i had my auto box and torque converter rebuilt by wholesale automatics australia and now my mechanic has got it back and went for a run in it and it has no second gear . looking for any feedback as to why you think second gear does not work. my mechanic is ringing wholesale auto tomorrow . thanks in advance for any replies
