No lockers but have dash light? (1 Viewer)

I was just curious as to why my unlocked fzj80 has a diff lock light on the dash anyways? Is it because it was an added option? Or for aftermarket install? Just wondering.

They all have the icon in the dash, but the unlocked ones do not have the bulb in the socket behind the icon - at least the ones I've rummaged behind the dash of. The wiring is present behind the cluster, so you can fairly easily insert a bulb and holder, tap into the wiring and make your locker lights work with your ARBs, Harrops, etc...

Here's the back of my '94 non-locked cluster. The F/R locker indicators are part of the three covered in tape (from factory, as far as I know). I think the leftmost bulb (rightmost when installed) is the central diff lock indicator.

The cluster just needs the bulbs & retainers to go active (along with all the other parts) - makes conversions like my black 80 easy to do with all factory parts, like 1 big Lego set.

Would assume that specofic light is related to 4 low center diff lock.
