No beep when using remote

Soon to be new to me truck. When I lock or unlock the doors, there isn't a beep like I know there should be. Where does the beep come from? Speaker out? Maybe a setting somewhere?

yup, no beep on my 04 LC either. Like wolf said, you just get used to hearing the locks engage or seeing the parking lights flash.

Might be turned off in the vehicle settings. My 98 beeps once for lock, twice for unlock.

Try searching for a volume knob under the driver dash as well.

I thought you could set this with some combination of holding both unlock/lock buttons on remote for a period of time. Had a few cars in the past that you could change that particular setting this way.

I thought only LX had this? My brother's '00 LX does and my '01 LC does not.

No beep lock is one of my favorite features, especially when camping. Put a snorkel on if you want attention.

Prob need to replace your trucks piezo. About $5 at radio shack. I think it's on drivers side engine compartment fender on 80s. Should be able to search a write-up on this.

I thought I saw a writeup a while back on how to retrofit the LX "beep" into a LC.

Our 2000 LC = no chirp
Our 2006 LX = chirp

This along with the "memory seats" always kinda irritated me. Features I could get on a Camry require an upgrade to an LX? Really? (Yes, it should be a user option to enable or disable.)

Oh sweet! I would love this! The complete lack of audible confirmation is annoying, especially on a sunny day near a busy road or parking lot. I often hit the lock 5 times because I can't seem to hear the lock or see the flash.
